Penile Carcinoma is a disease in which cancer cells form in the tissues of the penis. The first noticeable symptom of penile cancer is typically a lump, mass, or ulcer on the penis. It may look like a small, insignificant bump or a large, infected sore. Men who are uncircumcised are more likely to develop penile cancer.

Dr. Chandra Sekhar Patro, Consultant – Urologist at Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, Jessore Road, Kolkata explains the treatment, risk factors and details about Penile Carcinoma.

Penicillium: The Good, Bad & Ugly of this Common Indoor Contaminant

sex No Comments »

There are over 300 species of Penicillium. It is perhaps best known as the fungus (P. Chrysogenum) that produces penicillin, a molecule that has saved countless lives as an antibiotic.

Many species of Penicillium can thrive in low humidity environments which allows them to colonize not only stored food products, but also often grow in indoor environments. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “The most common indoor molds are Cladosporium, Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Alternaria.” Penicillium spores are often present in the air and dust found in indoor environments.
